GENEVA (22 December 2016) – OHCHR’s Memorandum of Understanding with the government has been signed, ending a year of uncertainty about the continuation of our operations in Cambodia. The final text of the MoU was the result of a mutually acceptable agreement that takes into account the position of both sides. OHCHR welcomes the recognition of its mandate, as reflected in the UN Charter, and looks forward to its continued cooperation with the government on the promotion and protection of human rights in the country. The full text of the MoU can be read in English and in Khmer.
