01 January 2008 - The OHCHR Cambodia Country Office has welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court to release on bail Sok Sam Ouen and Born Samnang and to send their case back to the Court of Appeal for further investigation. OHCHR hopes that this decision will set the standards for the future handling of all criminal cases by Cambodian courts. Read more in English or Khmer.
OHCHR had previously called for the Court to take such action in a statement (English or Khmer) issued on 24 December.
