26 June 2014 – On 26 June 2014, the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva considered the response of the Royal Government of Cambodia to the 205 recommendations that the UPR Working Group had made to the government during the Universal Periodic Review of Cambodia on 24 January of this year. At the time, the Cambodian delegation had deferred its responses to 34 recommendations until the June session of the Human Rights Council. In its final response to the UPR Working Group, Cambodia accepted 163 recommendations, noted 38 and rejected four. Eight recommendations that previously enjoy the support of Cambodia have now been rejected or simply noted. For the Report of the Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review click here.
