07 August 2008 - On the first International Day of the World's Indigenous People since the landmark adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the acting High Commissioner and the Special Rapporteur on indigenous peoples call for the political commitment of states, international cooperation, and the support and good will of the public at large to improve the everyday lives of indigenous men, women and children around the world. Cambodia voted in favour of the Declaration when it was adopted by the General Assembly in September 2007. Read more in English or Khmer.
