09 August 2009 - Today, the High Commissioner, Navi Pillay, underlined the importance of the rights of indigenous peoples and paid tribute to the resilience of their cultures. She called for joint efforts and solutions based on true dialogue, mutual understanding, tolerance and respect for human rights in order to move the rights of indigenous peoples from paper to practice.
