PACIn the framework of its programme of support to prison reform in Cambodia, OHCHR produced a Khmer version of A Human Rights Approach to Prison Management Handbook , published by the London based International Center for Prison Studies (ICPS). The Khmer version of the handbook has been made available to the joint team of prison staff trainers from the General Department of Prisons (GDP) and the Police Academy of Cambodia (PAC). In September 2013, OHCHR-Cambodia donated 150 copies of the publication to Major General Son Vuthy, Director of Professional Training Center for Prison Guard, Police Academy of Cambodia, Ministry of Interior, for distribution to the prison staff trainees. The book is intended as a reference tool for the development of a training curriculum for newly recruited prison staff, in order to enhance their knowledge of standards and principles of good prison management, as well as to build the skills necessary to transform that knowledge into practical behavior.
