20 August 2013 - Ms. Wan-Hea Lee, the new representative of OHCHR-Cambodia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Pa Socheatevong, the recently appointed Governor of Phnom Penh. The two engaged in a frank exchange of views and advice on a range of human rights-related issues arising in Phnom Penh, including social affairs centers, land and housing rights, the right to peaceful demonstration and the use of force in this context, and the promotion of accessibility for persons with disabilities in the city. It was agreed that the municipality and OHCHR would collaborate closely in addressing these and other human rights challenges, including through regular dialogue.
