17 September 2009 - As part of the 2009 Human Rights Day events, OHCHR is supporting a Human Rights Moot Competition being organized by the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. The Moot will take place in Pretoria on 9 December 2009 with the High Commissioner presiding. A moot is a mock trial competition in which law students can practice preparing and presenting legal arguments in a courtroom setting. The Moot is open to undergraduate students from around the world, and invitations soliciting entries have been sent by the Centre for Human Rights to universities worldwide.
