11 May 2009 - The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Geneva will today begin reviewing Cambodia's record on implementing the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights through an interactive dialogue with a delegation from the Government. Cambodia accepted the Covenant in 1992 but only submitted its initial report on implementation in 2008, fifteen years late. The Committee will review the report on the basis of the Government's responses to its questions as well as information submitted by national and international NGOs and others and will issue its concluding observations and recommendations by the end of the month.
