28 August 2012 - More than 60 media practitioners have been invited to the Training on Human Rights-Based Approach in Journalism jointly organized by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Cambodia and the Media Training Center of the Ministry of Information. In his opening speech, OHCHR Representative James Heenan underscored the important role of the press and media in a dynamic democracy. He urged journalists to take an active part in promoting human rights and in respecting the rights of others. To read Heenan's speech, click here. The two-day training is held in Phnom Penh on 28-29 August for print and online media, and on 30-31 August for broadcast media.
