11 May 2012 - UN expert on human rights in Cambodia Surya P. Subedi called on the Royal Government to act with more transparency when granting economic and land concessions and to make the process more inclusive for individuals and communities affected. In his end-of-mission statement Subedi also urged the Goverment to oversee the businesses involved in land concessions. Subedi's eight-day fact-finding mission to the country included visits to the northern provinces of Ratanakiri, Stung Treng and Kratie where he met with local officials as well as communities affected by land concessions.
