26 March 2009 - The United Nations Human Rights Council yesterday confirmed the appointment of Mr. Surya Subedi as special rapporteur for human rights in Cambodia. Mr. Subedi is a Nepali lawyer who teaches international law at the University of Leeds in England. His appointment follows the resignation of the previous mandate-holder, Professor Yash Ghai last September.
