Launch of the Braille version4 November 2013 – OHCHR-Cambodia together with the Disability Action Council (DAC) organized a public launch of the Braille version of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). This publication can be read by persons who are visually impaired. The objective is to inform them of their rights under the Convention. The public launch was well attended, including by representatives from civil society organizations working on disability and representatives from the concerned ministries and institutions. On the same day, OHCHR organized a training workshop on report writing under the Convention to members of the DAC Secretariat. Cambodia ratified the Convention on 20 December 2012 and has the obligation to submit an initial report on measures adopted to implement the Convention to the CRPD Committee two years after ratification.
